Here are the steps we take in the prepress phase:

1. You approve the quote, which includes the specifications for the book you want. The specifications include size, page count, cover paper, interior paper, type of printing, and binding. We will specify what the dimensions of the press file for the cover should be.

Important! The timelines we provide are based on the date when press-ready files are to be delivered. If additional time is needed, the delivery date of your production may be delayed.

2. You submit the press files no later than the agreed date, following our file submission specifications. For a fee of €80 per hour, we can assist you with DTP or graphic design. If desired, we can provide an estimate of the time we expect to spend making your files press-ready.

3. After receiving the press files, we perform a free file check. If we find any discrepancies with the specifications in the quote/order confirmation, we will create a clear list and, if necessary, provide screenshots from your files. We will then ask you to make these corrections.

Again: for a fee of €80 per hour, we can assist you.

4. You submit the revised press files, and we check them again for free. If they are correct, we will send them to the printing house. There, they will be thoroughly checked by the prepress studio. This may result in (minor) adjustments. You can make the requested corrections at this stage. Afterward, a final digital proof will be created, which you must approve. Only then can the printing process begin.

In case the files are still not press-ready at this stage, we will charge an additional fee of €30 per subsequent file check, and of course, the schedule will be affected.
