For digital productions: We print full-colour books on the KM1 (KM stands for Koninklijke Minolta). We print black-and-white books on the OC vario print.
For offset productions, we have many different types of printing presses at our disposal. We assess which machine is most efficient for the print run and specifications of the book. This often allows us to make a real difference.
Yes, this can always happen. Depending on how long ago your book was printed and the weather outside, your book may warp slightly more than usual on some occasions. If you leave the books to acclimatise for a few days in a warm environment at home, most of the warping will disappear on its own. This is completely normal.
Every machine, every screen, every printer has its own color settings. We work with standard ISO norms, but depending on the type of paper and the machine used for printing, this may vary slightly.
If you want to reprint a book, we will print it using the same materials and machines as the previous print run. If you have previously had a book printed by us, it is important to mention that this is a reprint of a previous production.
If you have previously had a book printed elsewhere (via another printer, without our involvement), we do not know whether the print files are exactly the same, what paper (brand, etc.) was used, and what machine was used for printing. So there may be a difference here. If you want to be sure that the colors are the same, or that other specifications are completely correct (binding, paper, etc.), it is wise to have a dummy made. Based on this, you can then assess for yourself whether the book will look the same.
We print on the most modern machinery in Europe. This enables us to deliver the highest quality available. The quality we deliver is comparable to the books you buy at larger bookshops or Bol.com.
Would you like to experience our high quality for yourself? Make an appointment in our experience center in Vianen to see different book productions.
We can give instant prices in this calculator in quantities between 250 and 500 (or 1,000 for black and white). If you would like more books or specifications other than those available in the options, you can request a custom quote. With a custom quote, all types of specifications are possible. In the price calculator, you can only choose the most common specifications, but there are many more options available.
We offer an extensive selection of paper types in our webshop. If you are less experienced with book printing, you may not be familiar with the terminology. We are happy to advise you on the best paper type for your specific situation and the minimum and maximum number of pages possible for each paper type. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
There are a number of standard formats available in the webshop. You can simply click on them, such as A4 or A5. You can also enter your own format in the webshop. Depending on your choices for the type of book and type of printing, other formats are available. This is because they are produced on different machines. This is also stated in the webshop.
There are three types of laminate available:
Standard matt laminate is susceptible to scratches, which is why we have chosen to offer only anti-scratch matt laminate. If you would like to see examples of the laminate, it is best to request paper samples, as these also include the types of laminate available.
Various bindings are possible. We offer a number of options for this in our webshop.
Hardcover books are always sewn bound in our webshop.
For softcover books, the binding depends on the type of paper.
Above that, in both cases (coated and uncoated), the binding is sewn.
Our prices are based on standard options. The colours you can choose from are in stock and available as standard. Colours other than those listed in the webshop are not possible within the specifications of the webshop.
If you are ordering more than 400 items, other colours are possible. In that case, it is best to request a customised quote from us.
The prices listed on the webshop are authoritative, and these prices may change on a daily basis. In practice, this will occur at most a few times per year, and these will be minimal price increases. In addition, calculation errors on the webshop may be corrected retroactively.
You choose the correct VAT percentage for your book. 9% is standard for books in The Netherlands. For commercial printed matter such as a catalogue offering products or services, 21% VAT applies.
There are also a number of exceptions. Read more on our special page about books and VAT. Or go directly to the tax authorities’ website, where you can find more information about VAT rules and exceptions (in Dutch only).
If you want to print high-quality books in a cost-effective way, you have to use the right machinery. We have various production locations where we have our books printed. Each production location has its own specialty, which optimizes cost-efficiency. New Energy Printing also buys in bulk, creating a cost advantage that we pass on to our customers. Read more about why we can keep the costs of printing a book competative.
We package all books in boxes as standard. If desired, you can also choose to have each book individually wrapped in shrink wrap in the webshop. This is available for a small additional charge. Other packaging options are not available in the webshop, but feel free to ask us.
Yes, that is possible. We can distribute your print run across multiple delivery addresses, both within the Netherlands and internationally. When making your enquiry or placing your order, please specify the number of addresses involved and the quantities to be delivered to each location. We are happy to draw up a suitable shipping cost proposal.
Please note: we do not handle individual mailings. Sending single copies to large numbers of different recipients (for example, one book per address) is not part of our service.
Yes, that is possible. However, it is important that you notify Centraal Boekhuis of the delivery in advance. We would like to receive confirmation of this notification, as we need to include it with the books. This way, Centraal Boekhuis knows which books are involved and can process the delivery correctly. For large deliveries, we can also deliver on CB pallets.
See unpacking instructions document.
At the latest one day before delivery, you will receive a track and trace code from us. With this code, you can see when your books will be delivered.
It’s obvious! The delivery time for your book depends on several factors. What are your requirements in terms of book design? What type of paper or finish do you want? That’s why we can roughly say the following:
A hardcover or softcover book without special binding or finishing can be produced within 3 to 4 weeks (in peak season sep-dec) this might increase.
Do you have additional requirements? For example, foil stamping, embossing, or UV spot printing, but still at a favourable price? Then we can deliver your books within 3 to 4 weeks.
For larger print runs ( over 3,000 copies), it is smart to purchase paper in advance. This helps reduce the costs, delivery time will be around 5 to 6 weeks.
Call us or fill in a quote request and we can give you the exact expected delivery time.
Almost all deliveries are on time. However, there can always be unforeseen circumstances that cause a slight delay. For example, a machine malfunction or a driver’s flat tyre. If this is the case, it is considered force majeure, and the books may arrive slightly later than expected. Please take this into account when placing your order.
The delivery time starts when the files are deemed ready for printing. This means that no further changes can be made to the files. In some cases, the files are already ready for printing when the order is placed. In other cases, changes still need to be made.
If desired, we can help you get the files ready for printing as quickly as possible. Please contact our designer for this.
14 days after the invoice date. For the first order, we require a 50% deposit. We have credit insurance. If an order is not fully covered, we request that the uninsured amount be paid upon placing the order.
In order to print files properly, they must meet a number of standard conditions. Read more about the guidelines that apply to the delivery of print files here.
If you have no experience in creating print-ready files, this can be quite complex. There are many things you need to take into account to make your book look good.
If desired, our designer can help you with this. If you would like to know in advance how long the designer will be working on your files and how much it will cost, he can provide you with an estimate beforehand. It is also possible for him to design only your cover, for example.
After you send us the files, we will check them. Once we approve them, another double check will be done.
When placing your order, you can also obtain a working drawing showing the dimensions of the cover. This applies to both hardcover and softcover books. It clearly states the dimensions that your cover print files must comply with.
For example, the spine, but also the bleed that applies.
If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact our designers.
There are two ways to obtain an ISBN number. You can do this yourself via www.isbn.nl, in which case the cost will be €113 (ex vat). Alternatively, if you print your book at New Energy Printing, you can request an ISBN number through us, in which case the cost will be €80.
If you would like us to arrange the ISBN number for you, please contact Joey at info@newenergy.nl.
We apply the delivery conditions of the KVGO. The KVGO is the graphic industry organisation and has drawn up these conditions in the interests of both customers and suppliers.

This is how you can reach us:
We are proud to say that complaints are rare at our company.
Despite our efforts and those of the printers, it is still possible that you may not be satisfied with the delivered product. In this case, we would like to receive an explanation of the complaint by email, preferably accompanied by photos. If the complaint concerns multiple books and/or the entire production, we would like to receive detailed photos of one book and then one or more photos showing the complaint clearly on multiple books.
After receiving this email, we will contact you within one working day to discuss how to proceed with your complaint.
