Portrait books are by far the most popular choice and are suitable for almost any publication.

Landscape book sizes

Landscape books are widely used when photos or illustrations take center stage.

Square book sizes

Square books have a modern look and are popular for luxury publications.

Economical book sizes

Almost all European book printers work with the same standard press sheets. If you choose a standard book size, the paper can be processed efficiently and cutting waste remains limited. This often makes production more cost-effective.

We therefore recommend choosing a standard size where possible, such as A5, B5, A4, or one of the commonly used square or landscape sizes.

Custom sizes are also possible

A standard size is certainly not mandatory. In fact, many publishers intentionally choose a custom size to make their books stand out better in bookstores or online.

Almost any size is possible. Keep in mind, however, that a custom size can sometimes incur slightly higher production costs due to extra cutting waste or additional production steps.

For larger print runs, a custom size can actually be interesting. When enough paper is required (usually starting from around 2 tons of interior paper), we can order custom-sized paper directly from the paper mill. This reduces cutting waste and can make production even more cost-effective.

The delivery time for custom-made paper averages about three weeks, making timely planning important.

Minimal and maximum book sizes

We produce both digitally and in offset. The guidelines below apply to most productions:
